Feature Request

Mar 31, 2012 at 3:07 AM

I would really like a option to turn on in which PAM would auto export data to a log file in a user defined directory at preset intervals.

For example, after 1 minute of run-time, PAM would create the log file for the day. Assuming there is activity every following minute PAM would update the log file with the current information. If there were no activity after the most recent update no changes would be made (to keep it from just writing the same file over and over and burning out a sector on the HDD or SSD).

I know there is a option for the user to manually export the data but sometimes I forget and loose my data for the day. I use PAM to keep track of how much time I spend on projects on a weekly basis and loosing a days worth of data sucks.

Also the default naming scheme uses mm/dd/yyyy to separate dates, and that is not file system friendly, could you change the default to mm-dd-yyyy?

Thanks,

Matt

I'm happy to hear that PAM is useful for you. I'll add the autoexport feature. I hope I'll manage to do it till the end of the week.  As for the default naming ill change it to yyyy-mm-dd so it'll be FS friendly and will sort by name in a more human usable manner :)

I've just pushed the new version.  One thing that is missing is the pausing auto export while in the idle state. I'll add it in the following days. You can enable/disable the auto export, set the interval and set the path of it. Files are named according to the following pattern yyyy-MM-dd.xml (i.e. 2012-04-15). This way they'll sort in the nice manner in the Windows Explorer

Thank you so much for adding that feature! I can't wait to try it out.
